Looking for daycare for our children. We will be moving in the area and will need some daycare starting as the first week in Jan 2011. We have 3 children, one 4 yr old girl and twin boys 6 yrs old. We are needing someone from about 7am till about 3:30-4:00. My twin boys will be attending Meadow Elementary for the pm kindergarten and my 4 yr old will need childcare for the time listed. The boys will be riding the bus home after school in the evening and the older siblings will be home to pick them up. If you know of a place or someone in the area that does childcare, please let us know. My name is Suzette West and I can be reached at 801-200-5188 and my husband Jeffery West can be reached at 801-200-5662. Thank you and we look forward to moving into the area.

Circle Cutter

Activity Days is in search of a 1-2" circle cutter to use for the craft we will be making on Saturday. If you don't know what it is, it's like a very large hole punch that they use to make perfect circles of various sizes with in scrap booking and card making. If any of you have one of these that we could borrow to help us with our project, we would really appreciate it!! Please let me know! Thanks so much!

How Do I Pay for Christmas and Feed My Family?

I don't think I'm the only one asking this question right now. Well, I asked and it got answered. I would love to share it with anyone who wants to know.

First of all, this is not a vitamin, cream or weight loss program. It's a grocery delivery company that is wanting to go national and needs to build it's customer base. Since everyone needs groceries I looked into it. The business model is valid and the compensation plan makes sense.

It's easy to work it as a business because everyone buys groceries. Part of the compensation is in Walmart Gift Cards. You can use them to do all your Christmas shopping and buy your groceries, or even give Walmart Gift Cards as gifts. The larger part of the compensation is a paycheck that you can use to pay the credit card bill next month. (I know I flinch when I think about how big my bill will be next month!)

So come on over to my house Sat. Nov 20th from 5:15pm - 6pm to see if it's something that clicks with you. There will be LOTS of FOOD! (This is about getting free groceries after all!) So come on over and check it out, then take home some dinner for your family!

If you can't make it and want more info, just call me at (801) 766-6374 or drop me a line at donotsellname@Hotmail.com.

Shabby Apple groupon

I bought a Shabby Apple groupon a few months ago that I am not going to use. It is $40 for $100 gift card to their site (http://www.shabbyapple.com/), and must be used before the end of the year. If anyone is interested in buying it, let me know!

Play Group Update

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still trying to put together the play group I posted about a few weeks ago. I have had a lot of people express interest so I've been trying to see if we can use the church on Wendesday mornings. I thought it might be a little crazy with a lot of kids in one house and the church would be nice so the kids can run around in the gym (which might make for longer nap times if they can burn off some energy). :) I'm still working on the details and I will let you know as soon as I get more info.

Play Group Anyone?

Now that I am home with a very active 2-year-old, a newborn, and the weather is getting cold, I am realizing that in order to keep my sanity (and for Mckay to keep his as well), it would be nice to do a play group regularly so we can get out and socialize. Please post a comment if you are interested. I was thinking we could do Wednesdays at 10:30, but I am open to just about anything. Please note if there is a day and time that works best for you on your comment so we can try to do what works best for most people. I will do another post including all of the details after I hear back from everyone. Thanks!

Nice Queen Mattress, Box Springs, & Bed Frame for $50!!

We no longer have room for this queen mattress and I would love to get it out of my house! We had it listed on KSL and I have reduced the price significantly. I just want to get rid of it and am willing to reduce the price to do so. I would rather have someone I know who needs it get it for a better price. The mattress is in great shape--no holes or tears. There are a few small tears on the lining on top of the box springs. A metal bed frame is included. Please contact me if you want to come and take a look.

Activity Days (8-11 years old)

If you have any Pumpkin Carving Kits that the Activity Day Girls can borrow please contact Holly Phippen 916-206-9811! Thanks

Hi Activity Moms,

Ok, here's what we decided to do. The Daddy/Daughter Date has been postponed until Nov. 6th from 5:00 - 7:00pm. Hope that works with all of the Dad's schedules. Please ask them, now, to ask for the time off if they have to work Saturday evenings. We really want the girls to be able to spend some one on one time with their Dads. We will be having a dinner and square dancing! Yee Haw! It's going to be sooo fun! Speaking of which, does anyone happen to know anyone that has a copy of "The Virginia Reel" ? I know it's a long shot, but I'd really like to get a hold of that music to dance to. Just throwin' it out there. :) Let me know if you have it or know someone who does! :) We will be asking each of the girls to bring something to contribute to the dinner. Hope that's okay. We just don't have much left in our budget but still wanted to have a nice time.
I'll send off the assignments as soon as i get them figured out. Thanks!

So, next Saturday, Oct. 23rd we will still be having an Activity. It will be at the church from 10am-Noon. We will be doing a Service Project where we will be decorating Halloween Cookies and Carving Pumpkins to bring around to some people in the Ward to whom we would like to give extra special attention. Please tell the girls we will be having this fun Activity, as I"'ve had a lot of them asking me what we are going to do.

Thanks for having such cute girls!! We just love them. You've all done a great job raising them!

Warm regards,

Holly Phippen
Activity Days Coordinator

Free Cake

I went to a cake decorating class last night. So now I have a single-layer decorated cake that I do not want to eat. It's a white cake with buttercream icing. Do you want it? It's not pretty. And I'm not saying that so you'll leave a comment telling me you're sure it is. It really isn't. We were just trying out new techniques (like using a spray gun to 'paint' the cake). If you're interested, call me 801.341.5106. Otherwise I'm throwing it out.
Also, I'm taking Amery's preschool co-op class to do a tour of the conference center tomorrow. I thought it would be a good idea with conference this weekend. Maybe-just maybe-this will increase her interest in watching conference. We're leaving my house at 9:30 if you want to meet up and caravan there. The tour takes 30-45 minutes and includes going on the roof to see the gardens up there. You can show up here or call to let me know you want to come.

Stake Relief Society Broadcast and Activity Invitation

Greetings, to our dear wonderful Sisters in our Stake,

As we approach this General Relief Society Broadcast coming up this weekend we feel to share this brief video with you. We are sending it as an invitation and preparation for the General Broadcast as well as for the Stake Relief Society Activity preceding it.
(Click on the link to watch it.)

We have a great sensitivity to your time on this upcoming Saturday. We are instructed that if we are to have an activity/meeting that it be one that will be meaningful for you. We, as your Stake Relief Society Presidency, have felt directed by the spirit to prepare this Saturday's Morning Relief Society activity for you. We do not know all of the reasons why. That is something that the Lord knows and the spirit will reveal to you personally. All we know is that there is something we are supposed to do and learn that day together. We hope that you will come in a spirit of faith to the Morning Relief Society Stake Activity and let it prepare you in spirit for the Evening General Relief Society Broadcast. We have felt His hand directing the choice of activity, the involvement of you wonderful sisters, and the content of this upcoming activity and look forward to a meaningful day together. Please express our appreciation and gratitude to your wonderful husbands, families, friends for enabling you to come. Come prepared to be fed and to feed.

We know you will be blessed as we join together as sisters on this special day to hear the word of the Lord.
We love you. We look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Lehi South Stake Relief Society Presidency
Teriesa Burt
Karen Nageli
Jalaire Terry
Heather Zentner

Do you have extra PVC PIPE

Hi, I am looking for some help getting some supplies for a real fun project for our bears. I thought maybe some members would have this laying around in their yard or garage. What I need is one half inch pvc pipe which is used in sprinkler systems. It would be great if it was in 4 foot or longer lengths and it would be a bonus if they had an elbow or two for it laying around. If you could spread the word I would appreciate it. If anyone has it I would like it as soon as possible and they could just leave it at my house. I also have iris tubers I have taken out of my yard if anyone wants to stop by and get some.

Thanks,
Sharon Awtrey

Does anyone know where I can buy sand for a sandbox? I've checked the bagged kind at Lowe's and Home Depot, but the sand is too coarse and rocky. I'd prefer it to be finer. Is there a place that sells it in bulk? (Like by the bucketful or shovelful?)

Farm Birthday Party Suggestions

Mckay is turning two this week (I know crazy huh?) and I am doing a family birthday party with a farm animal theme. In case anyone has done something similar, I thought I'd ask for suggestions on games and decor and/or to borrow anything that falls in those two categories. It's not that I don't have anything planned, but just thought I would throw it out there since I know how creative and fun all you ladies are. :) If anyone has a cricut cartridge with farm animals on it, that would also be much appreciated. Please let me know ASAP!!

Beginning a Preschool Coop

In September a few friends are beginning a preschool coop that will rotate to a different house each week. My daughter Amery was in one last year and had a really good experience with five other girls. Many of them are doing real preschool this year and so Amery and I are looking for some more kids to fill the gaps. We want a total of 6 kids (boys or girls) who are at least four years old. We know of two other kids who will be coming, leaving us looking for 3 more. This coop would have the kids come to your house two days a week for about two hours. Then the next week they'd go to another house. And so on until everyone gets a turn and it begins again. We have fun themes planned that you can base your time on (things like seasons, music, fish) and a detailed schedule that is easy to follow (thanks to Jamie doing all this hard work last year). We'll be going on fieldtrips, too. If you're interested or have any questions, please call Cara Cazier at 801.341.5106. We know not everyone reads this blog, so if you know someone in this area who's interested, please feel free to let them know about this and pass on my name and phone number. I'm excited to do this again. It'll be fun.

Random Cosmotologist Information

My sister is going to be graduating from Taylor Andrews Hair Academy within the next couple months and is currently looking for a career in hair design after her schooling. She has some great business ideas and is in thought of going into business with a photographer to do hair, make up, etc before the photography sessions. Could be used for Weddings, Senior Pics, Family Pics, anything actually... If anyone is or knows of a photographer that might be interested in a possible partnership or if anyone knows of anyone in need of a new hairstylist or job opportunity in the area let me know! Thanks!

I Need a Nanny!

Hey, I know most people on here wouldn't be interested, but maybe you know someone, so please pass it along to anyone you know. I'm looking for someone to come in my home and be a nanny a few days a week for anywhere from 3-8 hours.

Let me know via email sarah@kimmelhome.net if you know of anyone. Good candidates would be someone who just graduated or newly married, or even married with kids, but willing to come to my house to do the Nannying. I'd prefer someone who has a car. Thanks!

More free stuff!

I recently acquired new furniture from my brother and so I have a few things that I'd like to get rid of. Currently I have a pleather loveseat and couch (couch is torn in one place and cracked in another; one would probably need a slip cover for it) and a new dishwasher that need new homes. If you are interested in any of these things, please come by or call me (Ailene @801-337-4261). It would be nice to have my garage back again, so I can only wait a few days before I send it along to D.I.

*We can deliver, if you have need, as well*

Garage Clean Out

Jake and I are cleaning out our garage and we found some things that we just don't use anymore. If you're interested, swing by and take a look. We have a 10x10 awning, an outdoor table with umbrella and chairs, some bags, an 8 foot round pool with pump (pump needs filter), mini baskets for crafts, perlite (mix it in with your soil to help it not be so clay-y), some metal framing things, a brown couch cover that fits a long couch (we used it to stage our house when we sold it... so it looks good)... As we find more things we'll put them out. Come make an offer! 1749 S. 700 W.

Fresh Strawberry Jam for a Job Interview!

Real Estate is tough right now and my husband really needs a job.
I've got a fresh jar of homemade Strawberry Jam for anyone who can get Travis a job interview.
I picked the strawberries today! Yum!
Travis has 4 years of sales experience and also spent a decade or more doing computer technical support (up to a global level) and landscaping as a crew manager. He doesn't have any degrees, but he is great with people and has a mind like a steel trap. He learns quickly and is great with numbers. He also has many artistic skills and loves to work with wood, animals and anything to do with hunting. He isn't picky about what kind of job, he just needs a chance to get an interview.
Who do you know that may be hiring? There's a jar of jam in it for you! ;)

Pantry Secrets Wheat Bread Class THIS FRIDAY

I have an instructor from Pantry Secrets coming to teach another bread class at my house. Because you can do so much with the reccipe, they are breaking it down into a white bread and a wheat bread class (and is sounds like they will be doing more than that in the future). We already did the white bread class a few weeks ago, but she is coming again this Friday at 7:00 at my house to do the wheat bread class. We will learn how to make the yummy wheat bread and how to add other grains for more nutrition and variety. She will show us how to make four different types of bread: White Wheat, Oat and Honey with Sunflower Seeds, Italian Spinach and Feta Cheese, and Cinnamon Bread. All this will be done with 100% whole wheat. I don't think many of us have seen these things made in the classes we've been to in our ward and stake so this is a great opportunity. I have room for a few more in my kitchen so that's why I wanted to throw out the invite to whoever is interested. The cost is $10. Please let me know ASAP!! Thanks!

Pantry Secrets Bread Class TOMORROW!!

I am having a girl from Pantry Secrets come and do a class at my house TOMORROW. I wanted my friends and family to learn so I set up the class. I wasn't sure how many I would have, but we still have room for more so that's why this is short notice. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's learning to make bread that takes just under an hour from start to finish. You use the same recipe to make any type of bread item (i.e. rolls, buns, pizza, dessert bread, etc. etc.). Call me if you want to come. The class is $10 and will be at 7:00 at my house TOMORROW, Friday the 14th. We've done classes in the ward and stake before so this would be a great opportunity to come if you've missed the others. Hope to hear from some of you!!

Custom Family Tree Art

You may remember the great family tree that Noelle Newbold brought to the R.S. Service auction last Nov. Well, it caught my eye as it did many of you. We have actually started a business together making these trees for people and offering high quality prints in various sizes as well as putting them on products (like notebooks, mouse pads, tote bags and family reunion T-shirts).

Our website is now up and running at www.CustomFamilyTreeArt.com and many of you have already found us on Facebook! (It feels good to have fans!) So if you would like to have one of these great trees or if you're looking for the perfect gift, check it out! Don't forget to sign up so we can let you know about our next sale and the new products we will be adding.

Thanks!

Tomato Soup Recipe.

quite a few of you had been asking about the tomato soup I brought to the relief society activity...so I thought I'd just post the recipe on the blog.
it's really easy, and it's from Rachel Ray...maybe it's really easy because it's from Rachel Ray.

Ingredients:
2 (15 oz) containers of chicken or vegetable stock/broth (I used the chicken broth)
1 (28 oz) can of crushed tomatoes (I used the italian ones you find right next to the plain canned tomatoes)
1 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper
and
20 leaves fresh basil for garnish (I blended some up into the soup too)

Combine broth and tomatoes in medium sauce pan over med/high heat. When bubbles start, stir in cream and reduce heat to low. Season with salt and pepper and simmer for 15 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Now the recipe says to puree soup with an immersion blender, which I did. But I think it would work to do in a stand up blender too, you might just need to divide the recipe to do it.
And there you have it! Place the basil garnish on top, and serve.

YUMMY!

Even if you can't bring soup, come and sample all the other soups and enjoy each others company.

CARD GROUP

We had a WONDERFUL time at card group last month we all decided that we want to keep it going by getting together once a month (if that's too much for you, just let us know when you can come). We would still love to have more join. Katie Brown has created an awesome blog showing what we do, dates we are going to meet, and how everything works. The link is: http://showmeyourcards.blogspot.com/ Our next get together is on Tuesday, March 16th (that's next week!) and will be either at Jana's or Mauri's (we had to change plans last minute). There are about 5 of us doing this and like I said, we would still love to have more come! Please respons ASAP if you want to come next week so we all know how many cards to make. Be sure to check out the blog for all the details!!

Twins Times 2!!!

I just wanted to make you all aware that we have two sisters in our ward who will be having their twins any day now. One is Jessica Tibbits (first time mom and is having a boy and a girl), and Tia Reese (already has a one a little boy over a year old and her new twins are boys). Jessica is only about 26 weeks along and is on strict bed rest up at the University of Utah due to recent events. They are hoping she can make it to 28 weeks, if not longer. The bishop has asked that we keep the Tibbits in our prayers and pray specifically that the babies will be able to make it to at least 28 weeks. Tia is going in on the 9th to have her babies and has had a good pregnancy. I can't imagine taking care of twins and the cost that goes in to taking care of their basic needs. I felt it would be appropriate to ask everyone that if you have diapers, wipes, clothes, etc. that you don't need or could afford to donate, that would be an awesome thing we can do for these sisters. Please let me know as soon as possible!! Thanx :)

Disney Tickets

I posted previously about the Disney Give a day program. If you are interested but don't want to spend the money of fleece we are in need of people willing to volunteer four hours (doesn't have to be all at once) per ticket voucher to help back and sort donations at my home in a few weeks. If you are interested call e-mail me at middlegrayphotography@gmail.com. You are welcome to bring children to help that are six and up and you would need to register right away to reserve your ticket voucher. Thanks,

Natalie Wright

Any Volunteers...

The Chapel Valley 3rd Ward is in need of 2 women who could help them out {in the nursery} this Friday.
They are having a Primary teacher social at 6:30 pm. {I'm assuming no longer than a couple hours} They have asked some YW to help, but need a couple women to help out as well. They have exhausted other options and have asked for our help.
We were so grateful for their willingness to help with our nursery at our recent Quarterly RS Activity. If you can help return the favor, please let me know ASAP.

Doctor

Does anyone have a great doctor they can recommend to me? I am looking for someone who can help treat my migraines. It can be a general family doctor, preferably someone in the Lehi/American Fork area. I'd like to find someone who will take the time to help get to the bottom of the cause and to help treat and prevent them. Thanks!

baby food

Hey, I have 13 jars of stage 2 baby food that Lindy suddenly did not want to eat. I also have an almost full box of gerber rice cereal that she won't eat, either. Does anybody want them? 801.341.5106
