Day Care and Washing Machine

Hey Ladies,

I am posting this for Aubrey Hardy. She is looking for daycare for Chloe who is 20months. So if anyone knows of a good one please let her know. Her washing machine also went out, so if you happen to have an extra one give her a call at (801)850-4571.

Thanks so much!

Free Dental Cleanings

I just wanted to let everyone know (who doesn't ) about what I thought was a wonderful little blessing--especially during these harder economic times we are all dealing with. If you are oh so lucky, like us, and don't have dental insurance (that's affordable at least), and if you scour the mail for coupons for discounted dental cleanings, like me, then this little bit of info might make you happy. The Utah Dental Hygiene Clinic does FREE cleanings, done by students, checked by a REAL dentist. (There is a $5 sterilization fee).
The Perks: I got free sealants on all my molars, a flouride varnish, and a VERY thorough cleaning, as well as a ton of x-rays, and a cancer screening check. They just saw both of my girls, ages 6 and 3, and were great with them. They both got flouride treatments with their cleanings too. They'll do free sealants on any permanent molars they have too.
The Cons: For adults, it's a LONG visit (mine was 3 1/2 hours). There is also a preliminary visit, to coordinate you with a student who's appropriate.(??) The time is because they do so much stuff, that regular offices skip because of time constraints.
When I made my appt., they told me I couldn't come in until Feb., but that they'd call if anything opened up. We got called the next week, and we were all seen within a month. They also told me that the students can't see anyone under the age of 5, but that is not the case. In fact they need to see children of all ages so they can pass it off. If they won't let you schedule your kids, ask your hygenist if they can see them. (That's how I found out).  Again, you are checked by a real dentist, who will let you know if there is anything you should be aware of.
I was very happy with all of our visits. So if you have the time, it's worth it!
The number is 801-426-0774--and tell them you want to see the students. There is a Dental Clinic with regular dentists, who you can see as well. They offer heavily discounted services, beyond cleanings. They are in Orem, on the west side of the freeway, off the Univ. Parkway exit.
Thanks!

Lehi Mascot Bowl Tonight!! Fun Family Activity

I heard about this Mascot Bowl on the radio and checked it out at the webiste http://www.mascotbowl.com/site/page. It's a fundraiser event where mascots throughout the state (including the Jazz Bear) and other professional sports teams are playing a football game with a little league team. It is tonight at 5:30 at Lehi High School. Looks like a lot of fun and it's $3 per person for ages 2 and up. This is the activity portion of our FHE tonight. :) We are meeting my brother and his family there, but if anyone else wants to go with us, let me know and we can go together. There are only so many more fun outdoor activities left to do girls. Check out the website!! I've never been before so if it's not fun, don't blame me. :)

Gateway Discovery Museum

Now that Mckay is a little older, I've been wanting to take him to the Gateway Discovery Museum. I think it would be fun if a group of us took the kiddos one day. It is usually $8 a person (I'm not sure what the cut-off age is), which I know could get a little pricey. If anyone knows of good ways to get a discount, let us know. I guess I should have done my homework before posting this, but I figure you gals know more than I do. I would prefer to go on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. We may want to avoid a Friday if possible. Let me know who is interested and what works best for your schedule. Thanks!

VEGGIES WANTED!

I've heard from numerous people that they have an over abundance of things from their gardens this summer and lots is going to waste, so... I wasn't able to have a garden this past summer due to being in TX but my husband and I live off veggies so if anyone has nothing else to do with their veggies or whatever else you have, we eat it all! I'm willing to do something for them, but I'm lacking on ideas of what, so if you have any ideas let me know! I can pick them up or if you are in the area we live at 1818 S. 900 W. Glad to hear that it was a good growing season! :)

relief society broadcast.

so there are some of you going up to SLC to be there.
others watching it at the stake center.

but for those of you who aren't able to quite make it to either we are having a re-broadcast 'party' on Saturday at 8:00 pm. they rebroadcast the conference on KBYU. so if you aren't able to make it to the initial viewing, come to Mauri's house...with a treat to share of course :-) (although you can come even if you don't have one I'm sure there will be plenty) and we can all watch it together.

or...if you really liked it the first time, and just want to watch it again you can come over too.

let me know if you are interested!

Diapers.

Wesley has very quickly grown out of his size 4 diapers and I have an unopened costco brand diapers and opened huggies (from costco...i don't have the box but there are all 4 bags of the diapers still closed). I was hoping that someone who has a baby in size 4 or soon to be in 4 would be able to get a box (or 2) from Costco of size 5 for me and then we could trade.

i guess maybe the unopened box I could return. ok...typing out loud here.

so mybe just a trade for the open (but complete) box

thanks

The Time Has Come!

For all you Twilight fans! Tickets to New Moon are already on sale at the Thanksgiving Point Megaplex. I was thinking of getting tickets together to go see it on Friday the 20th at 10pm. This way, kids will be in bed, we can party, and then sleep in on Saturday! I will get the tickets (as long as everyone pays me back) let me know if you want one and I will try and order the tickets this weekend. Leave a comment or e-mail me, and let me know what time is best for you, and we can work it out.

Piano Lessons?

We just received a piano, and I'm on the hunt for anyone willing to possibly teach piano lessons for my 6 year old daughter for trade?
I am open to many options which could include any of the following: babysitting, homemade bread, homemade jam, bathroom cleaning, laundry folding, haircuts, grocery shopping, or just a good old eyebrow wax, etc.
If you have any interest, please give me a call!
Thanks!

Collecting Beanie Babies for charity!!!

Hi Gals!
I am helping my mom collect Beanie Babies for her Christmas humanitarian trip to Arizona. She takes hygiene kits to all the school and Head Start kids and attaches a small stuffed animal to each one. (It doesn't have to be a Beanie Babies brand, just about the same size.) She is about two thousand short this year- yikes! If you have any you are willing to part with you can call me or just leave them on my porch if you know where I live. They will be cleaned so you don't need to worry about washing them before you bring them.

Here is a link if you want to check out past years when they have gone. Go here.

I need them by the end of the month at the latest. Ask your family and friends if they are interested as well. Here is the best part- all donations are tax deductible for the RETAIL value of what you originally paid. My mom's foundation has a government tax ID # and she can walk you through the paperwork if you want to claim it on your taxes. You don't have to, but you can if you are donating a lot.

Thank you!!!
